Cheryl Hopson-Blake’s Journey
Cheryl holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Alberta and a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. As a Registered Clinical Counsellor and a Canadian Certified Counsellor, she is committed to upholding the highest standards of care in her practice.
In her role as a Registered Clinical Counsellor Cheryl will meet you where you are at presently, while providing a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without fear. Together, you will find the approach that best suits your unique needs, whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, relationships, or any other challenges life has thrown your way.
Cheryl believes in embracing the whole you – your culture, gender, age, and abilities. With empathy, authenticity, and vulnerability, she creates a collaborative and respectful environment where you can feel heard and understood. Drawing from evidence-based theories and therapies, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS), she tailors her approach to address your specific concerns.
Some concerns that she may be able to help you with include, but are not limited to:
- Anxiety
- Stress
- Depression
- Health issues
- Self-esteem
- Relationships
- Grief and loss
- Childhood concerns
Cheryl enjoys spending quality time with her family in their multi-generational household, whether it’s board games or movies on family night. She also enjoys quiet time where she can read, relax and take walks to re-energize.
